Thanks to a campaign by Joy Morrissey, Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue have invested in the long term future of Marlow Fire Station, making it one of their most important sites.
The station is home to the new Thames Valley Fire Investigation Team. This team is the first of its kind in the country and on a recent visit, local MP Joy Morrissey enjoyed being shown the forensic equipment and technologies they use in solving cases.
Joy Morrissey said “It was great to meet the Fire Service teams now based at Marlow station working so hard to protect our local community. Working with the Fire Service to secure the long-term future of Marlow Fire Station has been a very important priority for me. I am delighted that Marlow station has become such an important hub for Bucks Fire and Rescue Service.”
Cllr Simon Rouse, Chairman of the Buckinghamshire Fire Authority said “We were delighted to show Joy Morrissey the vital role Marlow Fire Station now plays across Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. As well as her strong representations about the importance of Marlow Fire Station, I also want to thank Joy for the important role she played in convincing the Home Office in retaining funding for our specialist Urban Search and Rescue team.”
